Interpreting and translating offences of violence

Sue Leschen the Director of Avocate will be presenting an Offences of Violence webinar exclusively for TEPIS members who interpret and/ or translate into and out of English.

The webinar is terminology rich and will cover the various types of assaults as well as domestic violence and murder and manslaughter. Sue will tell you about some of the cases that she herself has worked on in the legal system in England and Wales. There will be plenty of time for your questions after the presentation.

Sue Leschen is an entrepreneurial lawyer – linguist who has married her twin passions of law and languages together. She is the Director of niche – market company Avocate Legal and Business French Interpreting and Translation Services Ltd (https.www.avocate.co.uk)

Sue is a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL) and also of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) and has  Chartered Linguist (Interpreter) status.

Sue is an active member of the Association of Police and Court Interpreters (APCI), the Association of Interpreters and Translators (AIT) and also of the National Register of Public Service Interpreters (NRPSI) and is a committee member of CIOL’s Interpreting Division Steering Group.
